The 4th International Cosmetics Development Expo, CosmeTech 2013, was held June 26 – 28th at Tokyo Big Sight in Japan – and reported a record numbers of visitors, 20,638. In addition, 2,546 visitors attended the conferences.

The show is organized by Reed Exhibitions in Japan, and featured 368 exhibitors from 15 countries – up from 324 exhibitors in 2012. Press attendance was also up by over 25% from 2012.

Cosme Tech ran alongside Cosme Tokyo 2013, a show for finished products.

Show organizers say the show has become Asia’s leading exhibition for cosmetics development – and explain why.

For a small start-up brand, the show has become an increasingly valuable resource for finding both ingredient and packaging suppliers. For the major cosmetics companies, the show presents the latest in novel ingredients and packaging innovations – that could inspire a brand to find new ways to differentiate.

The Containers/Packaging Zone at the show featured these suppliers, among others: Honda Plus; FSK Color; Tsujikawa; Cover Pla; Unipack Korea and Hip Lik.

CosmeTech 2014 will greatly expand its scale, and become more international. It will also feature a new section, Promotional Display/POP.
